Don't Compete and Compare

When it comes to diamonds there are so many shapes, sizes and colors to choose from that for the average buyer, making a selection can sometimes be difficult, overwhelming and down right confusing.

Well just as one can get weighted down when comparing real diamonds, we can also get distracted and off course by competing and comparing ourselves with others.

Competition is part of human nature and can be useful in helping us sharpen our skills and becoming better.  However, it can turn into a real problem when we become obsessed in comparing ourselves to others.

More times than not, when we compare ourselves to others, we end up magnifying our own flaws which are often blown out of proportion and made bigger than life.  On top of that, when we compare ourselves to others, it's a slap in the face to God who created us.  It's as if we are saying that He made a mistake when He created us, which is far from the truth.

As women and girls we have so much value and potential but we often overlook it because we are so busy sizing ourselves up with others.  Are you guilty?  Have you ever found yourself in that position?  If you are honest, I am sure the answer is YES. 

Your challenge today is to begin to celebrate YOU!!!  That means embracing all the things that make you fabulous and even accepting your flaws.  Work on being the best YOU, the world has ever seen.  Remember, God will never help you be someone else, but He will help you shine and be the best YOU!!!

I think we can all learn a valuable lesson from diamonds.  Although every diamond is unique in design and no two diamond are exactly alike, diamonds don't spend their time trying competing against each other.  They simply SHINE in brilliance for the world to see.   

A Priceless Prayer: 
From this day forward, I refuse to compete and compare myself to others.  Instead Lord, I ask you to please help me begin to celebrate all that makes me fabulous. Thank you for reminding me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  I am custom designed in your image and likeness and you don't make junk.
