![]() When it comes to diamonds there are so many shapes, sizes and colors to choose from that for the average buyer, making a selection can sometimes be difficult, overwhelming and down right confusing. Well just as one can get weighted down when comparing real diamonds, we can also get distracted and off course by competing and comparing ourselves with others. Competition is part of human nature and can be useful in helping us sharpen our skills and becoming better. However, it can turn into a real problem when we become obsessed in comparing ourselves to others.

![]() I am always amazed at the amount of time and energy people spend on trying to "fit in" with the crowd. It's one thing to admire a person for their unique qualities, but when admiration becomes obsession, then we have crossed the line. The reality is if God wanted us to be clones of each other, He would have created us that way. Instead, He created each of us unique in design. Each with our own special qualities and quarks. Just like diamonds each of us was created full of potential with enormous value. However, until we grasp this concept for ourselves, we will continue to wear ourselves out competing and comparing ourselves to others in a quest to fit in. Remember, God will never grace you to be someone else, so get comfortable being YOU. You weren't born to fit in, you were born to STAND OUT!!! |
